The Nike Air Max 97 Ultra ’17 is an updated rendition of the classic running shoe. In 1997 Christian Tresser, who took inspiration from Japan’s high-speed Bullet Trains, designed the Nike Air Max 97 and with it came an icon. As the first Nike shoe to incorporate the hidden lace design system and feature full length Nike Air Max cushioning, the Nike Air Max not only looked like no other shoe, but felt like no other.

20 years later comes the Nike Air Max 97 Ultra ’17 and it still looks like the future. With its lightweight upgrade of the original, the Nike Air Max Ultra ’17 features a super clean welded textile upper, bonded Nike Swoosh branding on the side, foam midsole, rubber outsole, mesh lining, Nike Swoosh branded tongue, concealed lace loops and rear Air Max branded heel tab.

Coming in this solid new colour way, this one is a strong homage to the original while managing to provide a contemporary revamp to the classic silhouette.
